Foundation’s History Based on the initiative of Mr. Walid Joumblatt the “Walid Joumblatt Foundation for University Studies - WJF” was established pursuant to Notice no. 104/ dated December 30, 1982. Since then, the Foundation assisted a considerable number of students coming from different regions in Lebanon and seeking higher education in diversified fields of specialization. Since 1982, the year of establishment, the number of beneficiaries grew from 22 students to 6157 grants, in total, in 2007. As a matter of fact, a well rounded number of graduates who benefited from the assistance of the foundation resumed important positions in both private and public sector as well as in Lebanon and abroad.

The Foundation’s Objectives The Foundation’s board of trustees acknowledges that the best investment lies in education, and sets a number of future objectives which include increasing the available budget, diversifying activities and establishing ties with graduates who benefited earlier from the assistance granted by the Foundation. It also aims at contributing to the enhancement of social development through job creation. |

The Board of Trustees of Walid Joumblatt Foundation acknowledges all the contributors for their support to the students; and sustainability of the Foundation capacity to increase the number of beneficiaries. Furthermore, the Board felicitates the WJF Honor Lists graduates and Students who attained higher level of excellence, and wishes to all of them a prosperous future in their career and life. |
Foundation’s Mission It is the strong belief of the Walid Joumblatt Foundation for University Studies (WJF) that the processes of construction and development are complex and have a number of important requirements.
